Improvement of wastewater treatment facility for cut vegetable factory (processing stability, sludge reduction, etc.)

The first case that proved it is possible to discharge into rivers without using activated sludge!

A new Aiense Innovative System (AIS) has been established at a cut vegetable factory with a daily drainage capacity of 300m³. The processing flow is as follows: adjustment tank ⇒ 7 AIS tanks ⇒ sedimentation tank ⇒ river discharge. By returning the sludge from the sedimentation tank to the adjustment tank, the amount of sludge generated is minimized. The water quality analysis results show that, despite inflows exceeding the design load, all parameters meet the standard values. In another factory, issues related to odors have arisen, and the introduction of AIS is also being considered there. This is the first case that has proven the ability to discharge into rivers without using activated sludge.

[Processing stability, removal of pressurized floating devices, etc.] Improvement of wastewater treatment facility at chicken meat primary processing plant.

Change the existing aeration device in the treatment tank to an Aqua Blaster to enhance processing capacity, allowing treatment to be conducted without the use of a pressurized flotation device.

Due to the increase in wastewater volume associated with the factory expansion, the aeration device of the existing treatment tank was changed to an Aqua Blaster to enhance processing capacity. By installing Aqua Blasters in the adjustment tank and aeration tank, we successfully accepted a load increase of 10-20% without increasing the tank size. Furthermore, it has become possible to carry out treatment without using a pressurized flotation device.

Improvement of wastewater treatment plant at dressing manufacturing factory for processing stability and sludge reduction.

The pH automatically increased without using a neutralizing agent, and the adjustment tank alone reduced the load by over 70%.

As shown in the table above, the pH automatically rises without the use of neutralizing agents, and the adjustment tank alone has cut the load by over 70%. Of course, it has also eliminated any foul odors. Later, a load more than three times higher flowed in, yet the adjustment tank alone managed to cut BOD by 50% and normal hexane extractable substances by 60%. The person in charge later emailed me saying, "The concentration of raw water flowing in is much higher than the figures we had heard, and it is remarkable that we are able to handle this load." Improvement of wastewater treatment plant at the deli factory: [process stability, reduction of electricity costs, reduction of sludge volume, etc.]

After returning sludge from the sedimentation tank to the adjustment tank, surplus sludge (approximately 5.1 tons/month) was eliminated, and electricity costs were reduced by about 10%.

To address neighborhood concerns, 63 units of the Aqua Blaster AS-250 were installed to eliminate the foul odors, such as hydrogen sulfide, generated from the adjustment tank. After installation, when sludge was returned from the settling tank to the adjustment tank, surplus sludge (approximately 5.1 tons/month) ceased to occur, and electricity costs were reduced by about 10%. The person in charge mentioned, "The fact that we no longer need to manage the dewatering machine has greatly helped us, as the measurement work now only takes about 2 hours a day, reducing the work time to one-sixth." The BOD cut rate in the adjustment tank is 38.9% on average during high-load wastewater inflow and 61.4% during normal conditions, which has reduced the load on the subsequent aeration tank.

Improvement of wastewater treatment facility at egg processing plant for stable processing, reduction of electricity costs, and reduction of unpleasant odors.

As a result of switching to the Aqua Blaster, BOD was reduced by over 30% using a weighted average! Poor sedimentation has been resolved, allowing for stable discharge without the need for chemical dosing.

To prevent foul odors and enhance processing capacity in the adjustment tank, the existing aeration device was replaced with an Aqua Blaster, resulting in a reduction of BOD by over 30% based on the weighted average. Additionally, previously, chemical dosing was performed due to poor sedimentation in the final settling tank, but since the sedimentation issues have been resolved, stable discharge can now be achieved without chemical dosing. As a notable point, customers are very satisfied that even in cases of increased production or sudden inflows of high-concentration wastewater, the system can handle it without any issues. This has led to the special adoption of this system for pretreatment in related factories.

Improvement of wastewater treatment plant at tofu factory for processing stability and reduction of electricity costs.

By changing the aeration pipes of all the tanks from the adjustment tank to the aeration tank to Aqua Blasters, we achieved stabilization of the sedimentation tank even under sustained high temperatures exceeding 35°C!

At a tofu and soy milk factory in Shizuoka Prefecture, simply changing the aeration device in the first aeration tank from a membrane type to an Aqua Blaster resulted in a 39% reduction in sludge, leading to the shutdown of one blower. As a result, at this factory in Tokushima, all aeration devices in the tanks from the adjustment tank to the aeration tanks were changed to Aqua Blasters. The project was completed at the end of July, and despite several days exceeding 35°C, the system remained stable, maintaining the sedimentation tank in the condition shown in the photo. At this site, they also succeeded in reducing the inverter frequency of the auxiliary blower to 25Hz. It is planned that this blower will eventually be shut down as well.

Improvement of wastewater treatment facility at processed food factory for stable processing, sludge and chemical volume reduction, etc.

We have eliminated the need for the recovery of floating oil and successfully reduced the final sludge from activated sludge treatment.

The work to eliminate the foul odor from the adjustment tank and the recovery of floating oils has been completed, and the Aqua Blaster AS-250 has been installed to improve processing capacity. As a result, although hydrogen sulfide had been accumulating and causing processing issues, the foul odor has disappeared, and the wastewater is no longer acidic, leading to a significant reduction in the amount of chemicals used. Furthermore, the manual collection of floating oils, which had been done three times a week, has been eliminated, along with the generation of 36 tons of floating sludge. Additionally, the final sludge from the subsequent activated sludge treatment has been reduced from 200 tons to 170 tons, representing a 15% reduction in volume.

Improvement of wastewater treatment facility at instant noodle manufacturing plant for stable processing and odor reduction.

As a result of changing the existing aeration device in the adjustment tank to an Aqua Blaster and increasing processing capacity, we achieved a reduction in normal hexane extractives and sludge!

To enhance the processing capacity of the oil and fat components, the existing aeration device in the adjustment tank was replaced with an Aqua Blaster, resulting in an increase in processing capacity. As a result, the amount of normal hexane extractable substances was reduced by over 50% after passing through the adjustment tank, and other parameters similarly decreased, halving the sludge generated by pressurized flotation. Previously, the pH on the inflow side tended to be acidic, requiring chemical neutralization; however, now, due to the effect of the Aqua Blaster, it has automatically become neutral, eliminating the need for neutralizing agents. Additionally, the dissolved oxygen (DO) levels at the outlet of the adjustment tank have been maintained at 2.0 mg/L or higher, resolving issues with sedimentation in the final settling tank, and the odor of dewatered sludge has changed from anaerobic to aerobic.

Improvement of wastewater treatment facilities in milk and dairy product factories for processing stability and reduction of electricity costs.

After the delivery of the Aqua Blaster, despite the removal of the sprinkling floor, the coagulant became unnecessary, and the river discharge standard values were also achieved!

Due to the occurrence of processing issues, we decided to abandon the existing sprinkler bed and removed it, installing the Aqua Blaster AL-750 in the aeration tank. Until now, we had no choice but to use coagulants after passing through the sprinkler bed, but after the installation of the Aqua Blaster, we no longer needed coagulants even after removing the sprinkler bed. Additionally, since the treatment became very stable, we successfully included the high-concentration yogurt wastewater, which had previously been disposed of, in the drainage treatment, leading to a reduction in industrial waste costs. The recent analysis of the discharged water showed BOD at 9.4 mg/L, n-Hex was not detected, and other parameters also met the river discharge standards without any issues.
